We live in Islamabad F7 and chose to spend our last week in Pakistan at the Centaurus serviced apartments, to keep the kids busy and be somewhere well located for going out. Getting there and checking in wasn't easy, though. The directions didn't make it clear where to go, and my husband spent a while inside while our driver and I waited in the car. It seems like a common criticism, so I wish they'd sort it out. The restaurant service was excellent. The staff were so kind and attentive, and the waiters offered options for my son, who is awful at eating. For what you pay, the apartment quality wasn't great. Our Wi-Fi didn't work, the TV remote was broken, and the microwave had no plate. There was barely any bog roll, a funny smell in the bathrooms, and the bathrooms were very outdated.

Sarah at reception surprised me with a thoughtful welcome basket, which made me feel really welcomed. The housekeeping team also kept my room spotless and comfortable throughout my stay at Centaurus Hotel, with supervisor Faizan and staff member Maad leading the work. Everyone was professional and attentive, and their warm hospitality made the stay really enjoyable.

The location gives you access to plenty of food places and items, which was nice. But the staff gave very bad service: they kept us waiting in the lounge for half an hour, then gave our room to another family. We had traveled 4 hours from Dadyal for nothing and had to go back home, tired, disappointed, and miserable. I'd recommend booking if you're nearby, but don't come if you're 20 miles away. I've heard mixed reviews about this hotel, and now I see why.

The location was central to local attractions, though finding the right building was tricky. Centaurus Residences is a cluster of 3 towers, and my booking came with no directions to the exact location. I stayed one night in April 2025. Although it was advertised with no prepayment requirement, the property management began messaging me as soon as I reserved, demanding a 50% down payment to keep the booking or have it cancelled. The property was sublet to a 3rd party for management. I found the demand unpleasant, but went ahead and deposited more than 50%. When I arrived, the place needed maintenance. Kitchen cabinet doors were hanging, parts of the false ceiling were damaged, the toilet had a water leak, and the roller blinds were stuck halfway, compromising my privacy. They didn't provide drinking water, which seemed strange and unprofessional, especially as I'd travelled from overseas. I was also charged extra beyond the total, including taxes, shown in my reservation confirmation email. It wasn't good value for my money. I'd suggest other travellers look for other options.

The views of the city were a great plus, and we liked that the mall was right below us and open until 10 pm. We stayed three nights with family. It was secure, which mattered most to us, acceptably clean, and the breakfast was nice, with both desi and English options. I was pleasantly surprised to find a sewing kit in the complimentary toiletries. The aircon worked well, so we could set different temperatures in each room and leave it off in rooms we weren't using. There's underground parking too. Getting the booking sorted was fairly quick over WhatsApp after booking.com kept asking us to reserve more rooms, even though the suite/flat had enough. The booking document was inconsistent at first, but they corrected it promptly. The place was a bit disorganised for the price, though. Check-in was in a different tower from the flats. We arrived well after 5 pm after a day of travel, and were taken straight to a suite that was still being cleaned. They expected us to wait in the corridor while it was finished, which shocked us. The flat still smelled of food from the last guests, and cleaning liquids were on the floors. They only gave us another suite after I insisted. For such a new build, it seemed rough handled. Door locks and tiles were broken or loose. The bathtub in the main bedroom had scratches, stains and dents, no plug to hold water, and it creaked when stepped into for a shower, so we used the other bathrooms. There was weird-smelling shower gel, only two mugs and four plates, and no cutlery in the kitchen. The TV audio was bad, the sofa cushions had burn marks, and the phone didn't work. There was no information about the city or hotel amenities in the room. Instead, there was one hard bound menu for room delivery from a restaurant and one magazine about the hotel's CEO's life events with lots of his photos. I couldn't see how that was useful to a traveller. Wind outside or nesting birds made quite a bit of noise overnight, so we had to run white noise to sleep. At checkout, they made us wait in the lobby for housekeeping to inspect the rooms. They should tell guests at check-in so people can plan around buses, planes or trains.
