Hotel De Smart

There were cockroaches in the room, which made the stay feel unhygienic and unsafe. The furniture was old and broken, and looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned or maintained in years. Cleanliness and guest comfort clearly weren’t priorities, and the hotel fell short of even basic hygiene and upkeep. I had a terrible experience and strongly advise others to avoid it. Not worth the money or peace of mind.

The room smelled, as did the furniture, and the soap was very low quality. The washroom was pathetic and had fungus. There was no warm water. The Muslim shower didn’t work, and the bath shower only worked partly. The tissue was pathetic too. This wasn’t a guest room, it was a bad room. An extremely pathetic experience. It looks like the owner is interested in their new premises.

The staff were especially helpful, and the service was really good. The environment was excellent.

There wasn’t even a bin in the room, and the breakfast and pressing were a complete bummer. The bathroom lock didn’t work, and there were no tissues, soap, or slippers. The TV was out, and the AC leaked water. I called about it and it took two hours to fix. For six straight hours at first, we had no key because the receptionist said it had been lost. The whole staff had only been there two days, and manager Akhtar Joiya didn’t even meet us. After eight hours of grueling, poor customer service, they gave me a complimentary upgrade, but I was too tired to make anything of it. That’s the only reason for the two stars. 10/10 not recommended.
