The setting and location are amazing, and with regular maintenance, this could be a lively and comfortable place. But the rooms need serious work, and management seems barely concerned about them. I've stayed in Army Messes all my life and haven't seen rooms this bad. Anyone with a little aesthetic sense could make a real difference here.

The views are lush and the place itself is beautiful, but the rooms are only average and room service for civilian guests is below average. The receptionist on duty asks whether you're from forces or a civilian. What happens after that is up to you 😁

I spent two days here with my family in July 2024, and it was a pathetic experience. At night, we had a water problem; after we made a hue and cry, they finally brought water. There were also small insects in the rooms, while management did nothing to improve things. The bedsheets were dull and dirty, there were cobwebs, and polyester was coming out of the pillow. The towels were old and felt used, and the open dustbin had no bag. The room itself was shabby, with old furniture, no rugs on the floor, broken blinds, and damp, dirty mattresses whose springs kept squeaking. The chairs were broken too. The room interior pictures shown here are fake. In the washroom, the toilet seat and Muslim Shower were broken, and it was dirty. Used tissues had been stuck on the glass window to cover its broken section. The terrace had the dirtiest tables I've ever seen. Breakfast came with parathas in a broken, shabby Hotpot. Even the Bhurban rooms are good, but they keep those locked and give people the pathetic 1st floor rooms instead.

I only lasted 3 hours in the room they booked for me at Kashmir Lodge. It was spacious, but the building is old, the furniture outdated, and there aren't any appealing views from the rooms. To see a bit of view, you have to climb about 20-25 stairs outside Kashmir Lodge. I didn't enjoy the room and wouldn't recommend booking one there.
