The location works well for staying in the city centre while taking multi-day trips to places like Shigar, Deosai, Basho, Kachura, and Sok valley. There's huge parking, a bonfire area, and a private walkway down the side. Staff were welcoming and cooperative, the dry cleaning was good, and the dining area is perfect. Warm water is available from 6am to 12 pm, and heating runs from 7pm to around 11:30pm. The rooftop sunrise views are amazing in every direction. Rooms could be much better, though the ones with balconies have the best views day and night. In winter, you can even sunbathe from your bed. Be sure to put the gas heater outside the room before sleeping, it's a life risk.

I loved the mountain scenery around Hotel Mashabrum Skardu, and the rooms were comfortable and tidy. The fresh food was especially good, with the local dishes standing out. Staff were always polite and willing to help. It’s a peaceful place with a great mountain feel, and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting Skardu.
