The people in Skardu are kind and helpful, and the city feels clean and calm. Fresh air and blue skies make for a relaxing visit. Set in Gilgit-Baltistan in northern Pakistan, Skardu is known for its tall mountains, clear lakes, and cold weather. It’s also the gateway to K2, the world’s second-highest mountain, and many tourists come each year for the natural scenery and peaceful atmosphere. Shangrila Lake, also called Lower Kachura Lake, is one of the best-known spots. Its clear water is beautiful, and visitors go boating and take pictures there. Deosai Plains is another remarkable nearby place. Known as the “Land of Giants,” it’s especially beautiful in summer, with green grass and colorful flowers. Shigar Fort is another place to see, with a glimpse of the area’s rich history and culture. Skardu is a wonderful destination for nature lovers, a real paradise and a great tourist spot in Pakistan.

For Skardu, this felt like good value. There’s a small free parking area, and the room was roomy and clean with a balcony and a nice view. Towels, basic toiletries, and free Wi-Fi were provided. There’s also a shared iron, though no hair dryer in the room.

The location at Skardu View Point Hotel is nice, but the rooms weren’t very comfortable and the atmosphere didn’t feel relaxing. It seems like the place could be much better with some attention to its ambience and a few changes.

We stayed for a couple of days, and it worked well for a family visit. The team’s service and responses should have been more attentive, though. Still, one should visit Skardu and stay here.
