In the evenings the lake was wonderfully calm and almost empty, with ducks, swans, and what I think was a beaver swimming right under our windows. One came by every day. During weekend afternoons the jet skis and motorboats from the nearby resort could be noisy, though there were far fewer on weekdays. That’s something to expect by the lake when there’s no quiet zone. There’s also a railway line behind the cottage, but it didn’t bother me. Trains were infrequent and not too loud from my apartment. My son loved watching them go by. I spent a week in a ground-floor corner apartment, and the view was stunning. You could enjoy it indoors or step outside and lie on a lounger by the water at any hour. Having coffee or breakfast on the pier in the morning was priceless. I haven’t stayed somewhere so perfectly placed in a long time. The apartments were clean, well maintained, and well equipped. The bedding smelled fresh, the towels were fluffy, and the owners were friendly and ready to help make the stay comfortable. Swimmers can jump in from the piers, while there’s also a gentle way down to a sandy, shallow area, good for swimming or just dipping your feet. The White House grounds are monitored, including the small guest parking area, which made me feel safe. Even with the minor disturbances, I was comfortable here and highly recommend it.

As someone who lives in Augustów, I recommend this place wholeheartedly. It’s a distinctive spot worth a visit if you’re after peace, a more individual feel, and a break from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Biały Domek is a good fit for people who love being by the water and waking up to beautiful views of the sunrise and Lake Białe. The lake is very clean.

I went there today hoping to take a look, but the guard wouldn’t let me in. It’s private property with no entry allowed. The location is between the bay of Lake Białe, the shoreline, and the embankment with the railway tracks, with a view across the bay to the holiday resort.
