The rental bikes were a big plus, and some even had child seats. It’s easy to reach by train, and the shower was passable, with good pressure and hot water. But the grounds are neglected, which is a shame because the place could be lovely. We got an older, poorly kept chalet: it wasn’t very clean, the windows were hard to open, some lights didn’t work, and I wish I hadn’t looked under the beds. The bedding was mismatched and made from odd synthetic material. There were no towels, though they kindly brought some when we asked. The cutlery in the kitchenette was dirty. Some of the wooden chalets seem to be in better shape than others, but ours was in pretty poor condition. For what we paid, it wasn’t good value, and the place felt too neglected and run-down for me to recommend.

The staff were so friendly and generous, and the rooms and houses were top class. We loved it and will come visit again. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, welcoming vacation!

A nice, hardworking woman was there, but the room was dirty, with dusty floors, cobwebs and dirt everywhere. There were no towels, bath mats, hangers, hairdryer or towel rails. We could hear the train and its fare all night.

Such a clean, lovely place! I’d love to come back.
