Hotel Carlina

The food was a real plus: breakfast was tasty, and dinner was delicious and affordable. The employees were very kind and the location was good. Our main issues were the weak internet and the room temperature controls. You couldn’t raise the temperature above 21°C. Our room was fine, but the kids’ bedroom felt a bit chilly at night, perhaps because the beds were next to the window. We stayed four nights and our towels weren’t changed once. For what we paid, that wasn’t what I expected.

The rooms were nice and extremely clean, and the food was delicious. Service was great, and breakfast facilities were very good. It has an almost boutique feel. I’d have no hesitation recommending the hotel and would like to go back next year.

The view of the Tatra mountains was lovely, and the hotel itself was clean and pleasant. Our family room worked perfectly: our boys, aged 16 and 13, had a spacious bedroom of their own. Staff were very pleasant and happy to help. Breakfast had loads of choice, including cereals, cheese, meat, yoghurt, pastries, fresh pancakes, sausages, juice, fresh fruit, coffee, and tea. Supper is served from 3 to 6 pm, but you have to order it at breakfast or you won’t get any. There are plenty of restaurants nearby if that timing doesn’t work for you. The ski boot room was handy and clean. The ski bus stops just across the road, with regular buses to the slopes. There’s also a small supermarket about a five-minute walk away.

It’s an okay place and the location is good. The bar shutting at 8 pm is very strange. At night the staff seem to go to sleep, so even getting out of the hotel after midnight was a challenge while I tried to find someone and wake them up.
