Dom Wczasowy Krystyna

The hosts make this charming home feel warm and family-like, and we always enjoy staying here. The breakfast buffet has lots of variety, and dinner comes with dessert, so much food that finishing it is impossible. We’re impressed by the panorama of the High Tatras from the window every time. We recommend it to everyone and will definitely be back! 😀

The view from the window was lovely, which was a plus when we stayed at the end of December. But the "pilgrim's" room felt like a mess from the communist era: the floors creaked, there was a snoring neighbor behind the wall, and there was no fridge. We also had to take off our shoes downstairs. I won’t be coming back.

The hosts were very friendly, and we’ll probably visit DW Krystyna again. It’s a nice place, though I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who likes sleeping in. The walls and floors carry every sound: a sneeze two rooms away, neighbors’ conversations, a toilet flushing far off, and a neighbor getting up at 7 a.m. The kitchen ventilation is poor too, and cooking smells reach the hallways even two floors up, though not the rooms. There are only three power outlets in a room, one in the bathroom, so charging two phones means giving up the TV. On the good side, it was clean, towels and fresh, fragrant bedding were provided, and the included parking was ample. The bus stop is close, and the meals option was worth it: breakfast and dinner were delicious and plentiful, with plenty of coffee and tea. There’s also a small ping-pong table, air hockey, and a full-size foosball table. One thing missing was a cold drink with meals, even just water.

We only spent one night at Krystyna's place. The location is excellent, right in the center of Bukovina, with a view of the eastern Slovak Tatra Mountains. Krystyna was easy to reach by phone, and the hosts were kind and friendly. Our room was clean, though the carpet could probably use replacing, said with a pinch of salt. We ordered breakfast and dinner, and both were delicious, nicely presented, and too much for us to finish. There was a wide choice of food.
