Park Hotel Bydgoszcz

The noise from upstairs kept me awake until about 1 a.m. I could hear every word and laugh as if the people were right in my room. The room also felt old and worn, and the bathroom was worse. There was no gym, spa, or any amenities. At €70 a night, it just wasn't worth it. I've stayed at hotels in lots of countries and price ranges, and this was sadly one of my worst experiences. We'd booked one large double bed, but found two separate singles instead. The receptionist offered to change rooms, but the only bed available was 1.4 meters wide. My husband and I were tired, so we stayed put rather than unpack and move again. We shifted the nightstands and pushed the beds together ourselves. The beds were uncomfortable, and the pillows were awful. Two sacks of polyester stuffing would be about right.

I was there on a company-booked business trip. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the hotel is close to the centre. The reception service wasn't great, though, and they never smiled. At the restaurant, the food was good value and the staff were excellent. They were always smiling, spoke English very well, and had lots of nice conversations with me about places to visit. The coffee machine in the reception area needs attention, since it was out of order most of the time. Still, it was a nice hotel.

I slept very well, and the service and attention were excellent. Breakfast was very complete, too. The furniture wasn't all premium quality, but it was decent. I was disappointed that they required full payment at check-in, even for a stay of more than two weeks. To me, that lowered the sense of dedication.

Comfortable place in a great spot, and good parking too.
