Hotel Ratuszowy

The hotel itself was great, but I hadn't realized the nearby church actually rang its bells. They woke me every day around 5 or 6 a.m., even though we knew there was a church next door. Obviously, that's not the hotel's fault. Next time I think we'll ask for a room farther away.

I've stayed here several times over the years, but this latest visit was a complete letdown. I booked a superior room with a double bed for 219 zlt, yet ended up in what felt like the worst room, with a bed only 70 cm wide that I could barely fit in. I arrived at 1 a.m. after driving several thousand kilometers and was too exhausted to sort it out or move. I'd also asked for the room to be warmed before I arrived, but that was ignored. The receptionist acted as if she couldn't speak English. Then she kept trying to charge me 390 zlt, nearly twice the booked rate. It felt outrageous, as if she expected me to be too tired to notice or question it. Breakfast wasn't good either, with no decent coffee and no option for scrambled eggs.

The prices are very affordable, and the hotel has a magical location. The atmosphere is great, and the staff are kind and helpful. They deserve five stars, and I'll definitely come back :)

We only stayed one night while passing through, and the free parking was handy. The room was surprisingly clean, with thoughtful little details, and the staff were kind and helpful, though we couldn't find the right charging cable. Breakfast was really tasty, with scrambled eggs made to order. I only missed having a refrigerator in the room. Everything else was 10/10.
