The only reason this place might work is if there’s no other option. I’d leave as soon as I could. The tram ride to the city center takes about 35 minutes, which isn’t great, though being near the park and stadium could be useful. It also means events can wake you early. After 22:00, quiet hours apply, and the terrace lights aren’t kept on, so you can’t sit out and talk at night. Having a drink means doing it quietly in your room or illegally in the park. The rooms felt like a prison or mental hospital. The beds were uncomfortable and so short that at 1.7m I barely fit. Some rooms are even more crowded, with beds crammed in; a student dorm with bunk beds would honestly be a better experience. Everything is old and battered, and the bathroom smelled of sewage all the time. Meals were awful. Breakfast and dinner stayed exactly the same for all 5 days, food ran out without being replenished, and lunch was routinely 15-20 minutes late. The main dish arrived long after we’d finished our soup.

The rooms are very small, though the complex has had a decent cosmetic refresh. Thanks to the ladies who topped up the shower gel and water. Lunch was sometimes really good, but not consistently. The food was repetitive and didn’t taste very good, and I heard reports of people getting food poisoning, which I can believe. I wouldn’t count on this hotel and would only stay for 2-3 nights at most.

The Wi-Fi was so poor that I had to use my own mobile network. Meals were another problem: breakfast and dinner were the same throughout our stay, and the food was awful. I’d only suggest this hotel if it’s an emergency and you can’t find anywhere else.

I picked it for the short distance to the stadium. It’s old-fashioned, but I only needed a bed and a shower, and it did the job for that. I wouldn’t recommend breakfast.
