The tram stop is right around the corner, and the place is easy to reach. The hosts were friendly and dependable, and the hostel was so nice and clean that I hadn’t expected it to be this good. They also have two cute cats and a very old dog called Hector. I’ll miss Hector ❤.

The common area felt like home, which made it the best part of the hostel for me. Other hostels with similar ratings can have common rooms that feel sterile, but this one was welcoming. The hostel itself was clean and quiet, and the dorms didn’t have too many beds. I regret moving to another hostel halfway through my stay.

I stayed at this hostel in 2015, and I wouldn’t recommend it. There was a German shepherd downstairs who barked aggressively at me, but the description didn’t mention that a dog was there. Staff told me to turn my back so the dog could sniff my bottom, which felt humiliating. One morning I woke up to a staff member shouting at me in the backyard while the dog barked.

The hostel is on a calm, cozy street and has a small, pleasant garden in the backyard. The SKM and city tram stops are only 200 meters away, so Gdansk city center, Oliwa Park, Sopot, and Gdynia are easy to reach in 15-20 minutes. Ronald Reagan's seaside park on the Baltic Sea is 4 km away, about a 45-50 minute walk or reachable by bus from Zaspa SKM station. It’s also easy to get to and from the airport. I enjoyed staying at Wolna Chata, a family-run hostel that works well for travelers wanting to see more than Gdansk Old Town and explore the whole Trimiasto.
