Hotel Focus Gdansk

The hotel itself isn't too bad, and reception staff were friendly, but the location wasn't appealing to me, with a noisy road nearby. Parking costs 50pln / 24 hours, and I don't think it's worth using. You can find better hotels in Gdansk with free parking. Room service from the cleaners also needs improvement. Check carefully before booking.

We booked three rooms for a business trip, and all were on level -1, facing the parking lot and beside the garbage collection area. Staff didn't try to find us alternatives. Breakfast was average, staff seemed indifferent to our concerns, and housekeeping didn't come for three days in a row. Bring your own toilet paper. If you're staying more than three days, bring towels too, and hope the soap dispensers don't run out. I wasn't lucky. There was confusion about our late checkout request. The receptionist didn't object the night before or the next morning, but no one told us anything had changed. The next afternoon, our luggage and personal belongings had been moved into hotel storage without our consent. A colleague also reported a missing item. Management's decision to clear our rooms without telling us, including removing personal belongings, was completely unacceptable and felt like a violation of personal space and privacy. I've never seen this kind of hotel service before. My rating is 1/5 because there isn't a 0.

The bed lights are badly placed, so they keep getting switched off if you sit upright, and there were a few minor bathroom issues. Apart from that, it was really good. I'd come back.

The only real downside was the busy road very close to the hotel. We had to keep the window shut at night to get decent sleep. I stayed five nights, and the breakfast was very good, with excellent service.
