Hotel Mercure Gdansk Stare Miasto

The rooms are practical, clean and comfortable, with some nice color. They may be simple, but they were well kept. There's also a gym, restaurant, bar, parking and airport transfer options, and the hotel is designed to work for families and wheelchair users. The modern, relaxed atmosphere makes things easy. Basia, the breakfast expert, has apparently made mornings an art. Guests remember the breakfast long after leaving, and the restaurant and bar staff get plenty of praise too. The service is professional but warm. You can walk to the Old Town and main railway station in a short time, which makes getting around easy. As Gdańsk's tallest hotel, it also has impressive views of the historic rooftops or the shipyard. With thousands of glowing Google reviews, Mercure Gdańsk Stare Miasto seems to have earned a reputation as a reliable, friendly place in a convenient spot. It works for a short city break or a longer stay.

We were lucky to get an early check-in, and everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Angelika from housekeeping had the room looking spotless and tidy when we arrived, which made for a really comfortable start. The lounge/bar and restaurant were good too. I had a delicious mulled wine, served nicely, and the food and drinks were excellent. A lovely stay!

I stayed for two weeks in mid February 2026, and it was a pleasant stay. The city center location made things easy, with Zebka general store, Madison mall and plenty of restaurants nearby. Going out in the cold was doable, since it was around -2C, much warmer than the -18C the week before. There were lots of breakfast choices. Room prices changed from day to day, so booking ahead carefully can save quite a bit. Thanks to the whole team.

We're Accor Members and usually choose their hotels. This Mercure in Gdansk was one we'd happily return to. From here, it was about five minutes on foot to both the Railway station and bus terminal, and many historic sights and museums, including the Museum of World War II, were close by. Our room was spacious, well equipped and had excellent WiFi. Reception and bar staff were friendly and professional. We ate at the bar one evening and thought the food was exceptional. We also liked seeing Polish food and beverages on offer, since it was our first time in Poland. We had a great stay.
