Scandic Gdansk

The room was clean, though I would've liked more amenities and a coffee maker. Breakfast starts early, at 6:30am, so you can get coffee at the restaurants, which wasn't a big issue. I also noticed some coffee makers in the lobby but didn't try them. The food was just okay, and service was fine, nothing special. They could be friendlier and explain the hotel benefits better. The location works well for travel between cities, with trains right there. It's also within walking distance of the Old Town and Gora Gradowa view point, where it's worth going for the city view. Good for people who don't mind walking. Overall, a good stay, with a few small things to improve.

This is a late review of our March 2025 stay. The Junior Suite was spacious enough for three adults, and breakfast was a real treat, with lots of hot savory dishes and cold cuts. You couldn't ask for a better location, directly across from the main train station and only a 5-10 minute walk from the Old Town.

The soundproofing was fantastic. Our room faced the main Gdańsk train station, but it was completely quiet. The room was bright, roomy, modern, and practical, with a steam iron and ironing board, which are handy for business travelers. The bed's 3 cm topper helped, though it didn't make it truly comfortable. The pillow selection wasn't much of a choice: both pillows were soft. There was no spare blanket, and no slippers, which made the room feel less comfortable even with clean floors. The eco approach was well done, with refillable soap and shampoo dispensers and no single-use plastics. The hotel's Nordic style feels organized, with clean lines, and looks polished at first glance. We paid extra for an 8 a.m. early check-in after a long overnight trip, but on arrival they said the hotel was full and our room wouldn't be ready until 10. There was no apology or coffee, and they still charged the full early check-in fee. When you charge for a service, you should provide it or at least deal with a problem empathetically. Room: spacious, clean, modern. Bed comfort was okay, pillows could be better. Ironing setup was great, but no blanket or slippers. The eco policy was consistent, and the soundproofing was flawless. Early check-in was handled poorly, with no goodwill gesture.

Breakfast had loads of choices and was more than enough for everyone. Our room looked out over the main train station, which was a fantastic view, and the location right beside it was excellent. We were all blown away by how beautiful Gdansk is, so we'll probably come back :D
