They asked when I planned to arrive, so I messaged 24 hours before check in to say I’d definitely be there, but couldn’t give a time because I was at the exhibition. When I arrived at 17:00, the coded door wouldn’t open. On the phone, the receptionist told me the booking had been canceled because my card wasn’t verified. But the payment option was to pay at the hotel, not in advance. They wanted to charge my credit card, which isn’t the same thing as payment at the hotel. The service was disrespectful and out of line. Fix the listing to say online payment so guests aren’t left wondering whether they can stay. Thanks for the hospitality.

WARNING!!! These people are absolutely disgusting. They say they charge the card a few hours before arrival. If you cancel, they charge it right away and won’t let you change the dates. They lie, then block your number so you can’t call.

The location worked perfectly for me. The Christmas market was just across the street, the bus and tram stop was 3-5 minutes away, and the old town and canal were 10-15 minutes on foot. Most places were walkable, and Gdańsk is lovely to explore, with beautiful buildings. There’s also a convenience store and lots of restaurants nearby. I stayed five nights in a clean, quiet room with its own bathroom. The staff were friendly, and check in and check out went smoothly. I arrived around midnight, and reception had left the keys on the front desk along with the building entry password and clear directions to the entrance. They asked whether I wanted fresh sheets and towels during my stay. The heating stayed on, as it did everywhere else I visited. My one complaint is that they didn’t provide toiletries or slippers. I can’t think of anything else bad to say.

We booked through Booking.com weeks ahead, but the hotel canceled just two days before we were due to arrive. Two weeks before the trip, they said our card wasn’t accepted, so we tried two other cards. All three were rejected, even though they worked everywhere else. We emailed and got no reply. Calling only reached an answering machine. Don’t trust a reservation with this hotel.
