Villa Gdynia

Wonderful.

This was our second stay at Villa Gdynia, and it will be our last because of how the owners treated us. My dad was reprimanded over parking, which felt deeply disrespectful to guests. They charged the full amount for the reservation, including for people who never arrived and didn’t have a single breakfast. That came across as sheer greed. Breakfast was very sparse, often seemed like leftovers, and the rooms smelled of sewage. We had to ask before they gave us a receipt. We might have let small problems slide, but not the greed and disrespect. I contacted the owners before posting this, and they didn’t even reply, which just backs up our experience. On our previous visit, the staff had been very polite and friendly, so this stay was all the more disappointing. We won’t be back and can’t recommend it. After the property's response: It’s hard to talk about cultural issues when the owners themselves are the source of them. The owner’s lack of courtesy and the very unpleasant way my father was spoken to make it clear how guests are treated. After what happened, we’re the ones who have reason to be upset. The response doesn’t address charging for breakfasts for guests who weren’t there, the bad smell in the rooms, or having to request a receipt. And, as many other reviews also say, the breakfasts are simply poor. Taken together, it feels like greed and disrespect have taken precedence over basic care for guests.

Thank you, "VILLA GDYNIA", for a lovely stay and a nice atmosphere. The young woman and man at reception were friendly and helpful. I also had a polite conversation by phone when booking a room. The rooms are spacious and clean, with a kettle, small fridge, tea, coffee, cream, sugar, iron and ironing board. The towels and bed linen were snowy white, and there’s free parking on site. A quiet part of Gdynia, with a warm, intimate feel. The owners and staff were very friendly, and there’s parking for around seven cars. The beach is about 1.2 km away. We rode bikes and reached the promenade in three minutes. Breakfast was good too. I definitely recommend it.
