Hotel Mazury

The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but we had a great stay. Having a pool for guests and a restaurant in the same building is really convenient.

The breakfast was good and parking was available. The staff were friendly, though not everyone spoke much English and we managed fine. We barely slept for a few hours on the first night because someone’s children ran around above our room for most of it. Hard to tell whether the hotel has poor sound insulation or the guests just weren’t keeping their children in check.

Breakfast was served until 10:00, with the usual parowki and scrambled eggs. They also charged 20 zl per night for parking, which wasn’t mentioned before we booked. For that price, there are much better places around the corner, so I really wouldn’t recommend staying here. We were put in block B, which felt very much like the PRL. The room smelled of cigarettes and was cold. Only one radiator had a valve, and it didn’t help. One bed was in a sort of hallway people walked through. There were no bathroom shelves, and the shower kept falling off its bracket. You could see holes in the wall where shelves had been ripped away. Hot water came from a flow-through heater, so we had to wait a few seconds for it. The balcony was ugly, with a view of the parking lot where people smoked. There was also a shared second balcony, accessible to everyone in the building from the common corridor. Its floor was grey concrete and the railing was metal.

We were there with our infant, and the staff were so pushy that they practically sent us out, even though there were no other clients around. We had asked for really basic service so we could decide whether it was possible to stay with a little one. Since they had no room left with the right standard, it was hard to make up our minds.
