We loved Lemon Spa’s location and facilities. The spa was fantastic, the Indonesian massage was excellent and very professional, and we really enjoyed the New Year’s Eve set menu. There was also a great variety at the breakfast buffet. The resort has the promise of a five-star stay, but the rooms let it down. They’re very basic in their furniture and fittings, and don’t match the rest of the resort. Our room’s glass wall and balcony faced other rooms and a public path, but there were no curtains or blinds. To get privacy, we had to shut the outdoor shutters, which blocked the lovely lake view. It felt poorly thought through and frustrating. There was also no topper to bridge the two single beds, so as a couple we ended up with a big gap in the middle of a makeshift double. We wouldn’t return, solely because of the lacklustre rooms, which undermined what could otherwise be an excellent resort.

We had a great stay and enjoyed all the facilities. The staff and food were very good. For the best views, make sure you book an apartment or one of the luxury rooms. If you’re visiting in the off season, there aren’t many restaurants nearby, so remember to reserve a table.

Everything was perfect for me: the location, service, view, nature, employees and food. I felt completely rested. My dog, Shell, came along too, and they provided a bed, food, a feeding bowl and a poop bag. I really recommend it.

The restaurant food is amazing, and breakfast deserves five stars. The spa has great facilities too, including a pool and saunas. It’s a great place to unwind, with excellent conditions, large comfortable apartments and the lake nearby, where you can rent boats. I highly recommend the resort. A couple of things could be better in the apartments: the beds are oddly placed in the middle of the floor, so pillows fall off at night, and there are no bedside tables, leaving your book and phone on the floor. The one real downside for me was a very unpleasant woman at reception.

The views are lovely and the staff are nice, but the place needs a much higher standard. The rooms feel a little worn, and for what they charge, it’s way overpriced. The spa is small, busy, and not especially up to date. Just okay, really.
