Gronik

A nice place.

I enjoyed my stay, but the price didn’t match the quality. This is more of a vacation home than a hotel. The attic ceiling slopes so much it’s easy to get a headache in the room. There was no soap, the shower head overflowed, and the sink had no stopper and smelled bad. The room also kept filling with the smell of fried onions coming from the kitchen down the hall. The food was poor, with very little juice and vegetables and no coffee. When the owner was around, they would still bring some, but without her it was a disaster. The resort was full of people from across the eastern border.

We had a spacious, lovely room decorated with highlander touches and a modern bathroom. It opened onto a terrace with chairs and a small table. The surroundings were very quiet, and there was a shop on site. Szaflary, with its thermal pools, is about 6 km away. Breakfast was delicious, and you could buy lunch with soup, a main course, and dessert. The staff were very helpful, and the owners were friendly.

We’ve stayed in Gronik three times, twice over the holidays, and I really enjoy coming with my family. The rooms have lovely sheep and wood decorations, and the whole place feels cozy. We book a studio because it’s spacious, gives the kids their own area, and has two TVs so they can sleep or watch cartoons in their corner. There’s a playroom for younger children and billiards for the older ones. Having a shop in the same building is especially handy during holidays, when other places are closed. The food is tasty, plentiful, and varied, with breakfast as a buffet and lunch served in portions. The owners are always kind and helpful when I need to borrow something, add something, or get something fixed. Szaflary and Białka Tatrzańska thermal baths are close, and it’s a good starting point for trips to Slovakia or Zakopane. I’ve recommended Gronik to a few friends, and they were all happy. I love coming back and highly recommend it.
