ibis styles Grudziadz

The breakfast deserves a mention first: it was really, really good. For a short visit, the hotel had what I needed. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was a kettle. I also liked the environmentally friendly touches, including the glass water bottle in the room.

The breakfast buffet had loads of tasty choices and was served in a stylish restaurant. I also appreciated the thoughtful details around the hotel, from the local history carpets and funny drawings to the sleek modern decor. Cleaning staff were disciplined, and the soundproofing was so good it was almost eerily quiet. There's no outdoor area for kids, but the ground floor has plenty of games and toys. The young female staff were attractive, too. All this cost under €60 a night. The place seems to be run tightly, and I hope management is doing well.

Breakfast was self-service, with fresh food, plenty of dishes and desserts, and crisp bread. My room was clean, simple, comfortable, and had the essentials; the bed was especially comfortable, even for someone with back problems. The bathroom had a shower. Staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, taxis came within minutes, and I was glad to find a printer when I needed one. There's also an ironing room for getting creases out of clothes. The dim lighting gives the entrance a mysterious feel. My main complaint is that there are no coffee-making facilities in the rooms. There's a machine at reception, but having one on each floor would save a trip downstairs in pajamas in the morning. Very good overall, and not too expensive.

During our two weeks travelling around Poland, we had plenty of good service, but the staff at the Ibis in Grudziadz stood out above the rest. The concierge, housekeepers, waiting staff, and cooks were all amazing. Say hello if you stay here. You'll meet some of the nicest, most generous people.
