Termy Karkonosze Resort & Spa

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious, and the Italian restaurant made really tasty pizza. Pool water was pleasantly warm, and the villa jacuzzi was a great addition. We stayed in a Junior Suite and had a pleasant time, though it didn’t quite feel like a true 5-star hotel for the price. A few things could be better. Bathrobes cost about €11 to rent at reception, and room cleaning is only available on request for an extra fee. Many signs and descriptions are in Polish, with limited English translations. The bed was a little firm for us, but we slept well. The gym is small but well equipped. The villa furnishings don’t give the impression of top quality, though everything seems relatively new.

The new resort has a lot going for it, and the team made us feel that they really care about improving the guest experience. We did run into a few small startup issues, which wasn’t surprising given that Termy Karkonosze Resort & Spa had only been open a few months. We had a fantastic stay and would happily recommend this beautiful place.

The location is lovely, but the spa setup was a real disappointment. It’s tiny, with just one proper sauna and a very small adults-only area. After the sauna there’s nowhere to rest except loungers beside the main pool, where kids were running around and shouting, so relaxing was impossible. We went once and didn’t go back, which rather defeats the reason for booking a spa hotel. We’ve had better wellness facilities at places that didn’t even call themselves spa hotels. Our room was ok, but it wasn’t cleaned during our stay. Breakfast tasted good, though it got repetitive each day. There were no slippers, and bathrobes cost €26 to rent for two people. For a stay marketed as a spa resort, it didn’t deliver the relaxation we were looking for.

The massage was excellent, and the thermal pools were pleasant, but the relaxation area was far too small for the resort. It was crowded with no loungers free. At 3 p.m. I asked for sauna towels and was told they’d run out until evening, so we should use our room towels. Robes also cost extra, 50 PLN. The rooms look nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable, though stains on the sofa and in the main halls spoiled the impression. In the bathroom there was only hand soap, even in the shower. Cleaning the room is an extra charge, which the hotel says is for “environmental protection.” We tried both restaurants. The Italian place served me burrata that seemed to have been frozen and had no flavor; the tomato soup was fine. At 7 p.m., guests arriving after us were told they could only order pizza because a group of 20 had booked. The continental restaurant’s food was good, but not really the “slow life” experience they advertise. We waited over an hour just for soup as a starter, again with the same group of 20 dining there. My dessert tasted overwhelmingly of cloves, with whole cloves in it. Maybe that was intended, but it didn’t work for me. Breakfast was standard, with machine juice from concentrate, and the buffet space was so small that everyone was squeezed together. Also, if you stay in the villa section, it isn’t classified as a five-star hotel. It looks luxurious at first, but there was plenty that disappointed.
