It’s a large, attractive cottage in a great spot for trekking, and the layout works well for a big group. But it’s poorly maintained, with dirty walls and doors coming loose. The biggest problem was the woman running it. She lives across the street and watches what’s going on in the cottage. I got repeated calls with ridiculous complaints, like lights being left on in rooms that were occupied. She shows no respect for guests’ privacy, is deeply distrustful, and seems stuck in her own beliefs and in the 1990s/2000s.

The cottage was roomy, well equipped, in a convenient location, and had a view of Chojnik Castle, all for a really good price. The owner seemed friendly at first, but she lives right across the street, and my friends and I often saw her watching us from the window. She also came in daily to do laundry. We wouldn’t have minded that on its own, but we told her the repeated visits made us uncomfortable and irritated because we were renting the cottage and wanted privacy. She said she was elderly and that this was a hotel, not a cottage, so she had the right to come in.

Everything in the house was in good condition, it was very large, well equipped and suited to a bigger group. It’s also close to everything. The owner started out very nice, but after we mentioned her frequent unannounced visits to do laundry, her manner changed. She was across the street and kept watching us from her window, which also left us feeling we had no privacy. I don’t have anything else to complain about. :)

A good base for exploring the nearby trekking routes, including Chojnik Castle. The house has plenty of room for a large family or group, with a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable enough rooms and a big living room with a fireplace, TV and terrace.
