Holiday Inn Warsaw Jozefow

We booked five nights, from December 23 to 28, but left on the 27th feeling upset. The spa itself was enjoyable, though there were only 10 sunbeds for 350 rooms and every bathrobe we saw was torn. The way our stay ended wiped out any good feelings. At 11:45, just after we had put our son to sleep, reception called and said we had to leave our room within 15 minutes. I asked for an hour so we wouldn't wake him, but they called again after 20 minutes and insisted we go. They woke him, and he cried a lot. We still had a day left, and they said I had paid for a lower room category, even though the hotel had offered us the upgraded room as compensation. Nobody had told us the arrangement was temporary. We wouldn't have unpacked if we'd known. That was the last straw. We packed up, paid the minibar, and left rather than unpack for a fourth time that day in another room. Nobody apologized or even said goodbye. Before that, the room situation had been a mess. We arrived at 4:30 PM and were assigned room 315, which hadn't been cleaned, so we went back to reception and got room 317. It was cold from the start. On Christmas Eve, it was -4 outside and 17 in our room. We tried adjusting the air conditioning ourselves, then told the maid; she said she'd pass it on to reception but doubted anyone could help because everyone had gone to celebrate. The next day it was -10 outside and about 15 in the room. We were wearing jackets when a technician came, fiddled with the air conditioning, said it worked, and left. Four hours later it was still cold. We also had a one-year-old with us, and our son was freezing and crying constantly. When we called the technician again, he said the air conditioner was broken and we'd need to move. We waited an hour for him to sort it out, but nobody called, so I went to follow up myself. We were exhausted and ready to take our money and go home. Reception persuaded us to stay and offered a warm room in a better category. We were relieved and tried to put the earlier problems behind us, including waiting five hours for a baby cot. The restaurant also didn't open on Christmas, leaving a special dinner at 100 euros per person as our only option. It wasn't tasty, and the service was worse than at a regular hotel breakfast. At 100 euros a head, I'd expect a Michelin-starred set meal, not a buffet with plastic plates and waiters who didn't even pour drinks. On December 25 we unpacked for the third time, now in room 320. Our child finally warmed up and fell asleep, so we could rest. We went to the spa and felt the hotel had handled things well by offering compensation. Then came the abrupt room demand on December 27. In five days, I spent only four nights at the hotel, two of them freezing, and was moved four times. Would I recommend staying here? No.

The food, including breakfast, was delicious, and the staff were friendly and capable. There's plenty of room for families, kids, and people here for business. The indoor and outdoor children's play areas are large, and there are good conference rooms too.

The room was spacious and nicely presented, and breakfast had lots of fresh choices. I was here on a work trip and found the hotel and staff excellent. Its spot among the wooded part of town feels quiet and peaceful. I'd happily recommend it.

There are lots of activities to choose from, and the staff are friendly. The rooms are clean and quite nice, and the restaurant food is very good too. Works well for families with children as well as business meetings. Highly recommend.
