Magic Garden Hostel

The only thing I can say in its favor is the fudge. The shared bathroom feels completely out of place these days, and the decor is so bad that I was just counting down until I could leave. Everything has the look of the 1970s. I suspect the glowing reviews came from people whose last hotel stay was back in the communist era and who were impressed by that. I don't know who wrote them or gave such high ratings, but this place was a disaster for me. I definitely won't return.

I canceled my booking and couldn't stay the night because of what I see as an unfair pricing policy. On the phone I was quoted two different prices, and no one told me about the extra charge for bringing a dog until after I'd made the reservation. There are two rates for the dog fee: PLN 30 a night through Booking.com and PLN 15 a night when booking by phone. When I asked what the fee covered, the owner got annoyed and curtly replied, "NOTHING." What exactly is the charge for? I don't recommend the property. It feels unfair to customers and lacking in empathy. I reported the matter to Booking.com. The owner's threat to involve the police won't change the facts: I consider the property dishonest. I'm warning other guests and am open to discussing it.

Each guest finds a little gift waiting in their room, which left a lovely and memorable impression. The hostel itself has a great vintage interior.

Breakfast was great, and the staff were friendly. It’s in a good location with interesting decor too. I recommend it.
