Rezydencja Victoria

The homelike atmosphere and the owners make this a wonderful place. I’ve stayed at this residence twice now, and I’m sure it won’t be my last visit. I recommend it again.

There was plenty of parking, and coffee and tea were available in the kitchen all day. There weren’t any juices or sodas, though, and no espresso machine. The location was fine, close to the attractions, and the rooms were spacious, quiet, and clean. The bathroom and shower were tidy too. There was only terrestrial TV, but we hadn’t come to watch TV. Breakfasts offered plenty of variety. Dinner was tasty but modest, with just one dish and one soup. Christmas Eve felt a little informal, with no festive table decorations or much ceremony. The stay seemed a bit expensive for the standard, though it was Christmas.

The room temperature was a problem, either too cold or too hot. In one room I stayed in, mold had crept around the windows and into the bathroom. Downstairs, a dog was kept locked in a ground-floor room from morning until night, and its urine smell was strong as we crossed the creaky floor to the dining room. The chef there loudly criticized our food preferences and the diners’ appearance. Some dishes were edible, but many weren’t. I don’t recommend this place.

The room was huge, with very comfortable beds and soft carpets, a real relief after hours on the trail. It’s in a very quiet spot but still close to plenty of attractions, and it makes a good base for hiking. Breakfast was delicious, especially the homemade tomato juice and blueberry pancakes. The host was great, very open and happy to talk at length about the mountains.
