The bed was really comfortable, and self check-in was easy. It was cheap, clean, and in a great location, with nice staff. My room smelled bad, though. I think it was because of the other guests, not the hostel, as there were food leftovers and alcohol bottles and cans everywhere, along with some strange folks. Still, all good in general.

It’s a few minutes’ walk to town or the station, and there’s an amazing vegan cafe directly across the street. The kitchen had lots of space to cook and eat, and everything we needed, though the oven didn’t work, so we bought food we could heat in the microwave. We stayed four nights and the place was clean, warm and comfortable. The building has lots of character and the inside is bright and colourful. It felt secure, with two number locks to get in. Staff and guests were friendly and helpful. Our room wasn’t huge, but it was big enough, and the bed was much more comfortable than it looked. The shower was roomy and always had hot water. The hair dryer switched off after about a minute, which I assume is a safety feature. I’m a heavy sleeper and slightly deaf, and slept really well all four nights, but the walls are very thin. You can hear a shower three rooms away and quiet conversations, so light sleepers staying more than one night might struggle. My daughter had to buy earplugs. I’ll definitely stay again.

The owners handle feedback and difficult situations in a totally unprofessional way. Their replies to reviews are hostile and aggressive, and seem intended to intimidate people. I hope you have a great day and learn how to run a business properly. Booking has already been informed about your unprofessional conduct.

I’m writing because the management’s response to a legitimate concern shows how poorly guests and problems are handled. Using personal insults in a reply is disrespectful and unprofessional. Emergencies happen, and a more reputable place would have tried to understand the situation and find a solution before canceling a fully paid reservation without even contacting us. Taking payment for a service, then canceling without notice, is shocking. Trying to dismiss this review because it wasn’t written by the person who made the reservation only shows an unwillingness to take responsibility. The hostel failed to provide a paid service, then responded to feedback with hostility and insults. Future customers should know that management puts inflexible rules ahead of customer satisfaction and basic human decency. If you book, don’t expect understanding or flexibility during an emergency, or a courteous reply if something goes wrong. This isn’t how a customer-focused business should operate. Best regards.
