Voco Katowice

I came away very happy and would absolutely stay again on my next trip to Katowice. Paulina at reception greeted me with a big, friendly smile, and the room was modern, spotless, and made lovely use of its space. The hotel itself feels stylish and comfortable, and both the room and food were lovely. There was a huge spread at the breakfast bar. I went for a full English, which tasted like home, with a hot chocolate alongside it. A smashing visit, 5/5.

Parking costs a bit much. The dining room is comfortable and cozy, though, and breakfast is generous with plenty of choices if it's included. The room itself is roomy and modern, with a bathroom that's very well equipped.

I found the staff really helpful, both with things I needed during the stay and with information. The hotel is right in the center, close to the railway station and well placed for exploring Katowice and nearby cities. Rooms are modern and well equipped, with useful extras like a sewing kit, shoe polish, utensils, and an iron and ironing board. There's also a coffee machine and tea. Guests can use the sauna, and breakfast has enough variety to suit different tastes. I highly recommend it.

The secure room doors stood out to me as a solo female traveler: they have proper deadbolts, two of them. Katowice is probably Poland's safest major city, but it's clear the hotel thinks about guests' comfort and safety. The renovation turned what had been a grim reminder of another era into a beautiful hotel. Since it's practically new, there are a few quirks, but nothing major that time won't sort out. Breakfast is great, the coffee is good, and there are coffee facilities in the room. You also get an iron and ironing board there, so there's no need to ask.
