I don’t believe the negative comments. Like most people, I had a great stay here. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, the breakfast first-rate, and the staff very friendly. I wholeheartedly recommend it. Best regards.

I wasn’t happy with the room. It was dirty, with lots of dust under the bed, and there was white buildup in the kettle. There were no curtains, and it had no atmosphere at all. I felt disgusted when I found a dirty mattress with stains that looked like they might be blood. Just gross. I don’t understand why you can only pick up the key at 3:00 pm when it has to be returned by 11:00 am, supposedly leaving four hours for cleaning, with no visible result. Poor.

The room itself was very good and had air conditioning, but finding the place was a struggle, despite its location in central Kazimierz, by a small market square. The Wedel Chocolate Lounge building had no sign saying there were guest rooms there, or even showing the address. When I asked at the bar, the woman just said, “This is it!” After a five-hour trip, I was told the room was still being cleaned and that I could collect the key at 3:00 PM. They let me leave my luggage in the basement, which was an office or storage room. Nobody asked whether we wanted breakfast the next day, so the staff seemed surprised when we came downstairs to the Chocolate Lounge at 9:50 AM to order and pay for it. It opens at 10:00 AM. We eventually ordered a very basic breakfast, but the croissants weren’t ready yet because they were still baking. I got the impression that overnight stays are an extra sideline for the coffee shop. That seems to cause confusion and demands, especially when chocolate already sells itself and customers bang on the doors and windows.

Right beside the Market Square, above the Wedel Chocolate Lounge, are these guest rooms. Ours was very clean and nicely presented, with a comfortable bed, TV, table, electric kettle, coffee and tea, wine glasses, and towels. The bathroom had a shower and hairdryer.
