Zajazd pod Zamkiem

The sorrel soup was a 10 out of 10, and the pork cheeks were amazing. We also had beers, starters, and main courses, and everything tasted great. The liver doughnuts are a must try, and the wild boar meatballs were delicious too. We’d definitely come back.

The food was the highlight for us. We tried the miętus fish, wild boar meatballs, and cheeks, and all of them were tasty. The pączki were great too, pleasantly not as sweet as they often are. The menu itself looks a bit plain and unattractive, but the staff were friendly and the place is well located beside the Kętrzyn castle. Worth a visit.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean enough. We stayed one night in a good location near the beautiful old town. The TV in our room didn't work, though after a day trip we were tired and it wasn't a big problem. I hope they fix it. We ordered breakfast for 9 a.m., but it was very basic, the bread wasn't fresh and the tomatoes came straight from the fridge, which takes away their taste. If you're very hungry it'll do, otherwise you may be better off finding breakfast at another place, maybe a bistro.

The room looked great, and it was nice and clean. We also rented it for the night, but there was no shampoo or shower gel, and the TV had a poor selection of channels, with only TVP channels available. The food was okay, though I expected something more exceptional from a restaurant that had been through Magda Gessler's revolution. 😭
