Zamek Korzkiew

We were the only guests, and breakfast was set out for just the two of us on this huge old-fashioned table. It felt wonderfully authentic, and the breakfast itself was great. The one drawback is there's no restaurant or cafe in the castle. When we arrived, the receptionist helped us a lot by ordering dinner at a nearby restaurant, and everyone we dealt with spoke enough English to be very helpful, unlike the staff at most Polish castles we've visited. This is the best castle hotel we've stayed in, and we love staying in castles. The owner deserves respect for not cutting corners during the restoration. The custom-made details and expensive materials stand out, right down to the big wrought-iron entrance key. We highly recommend it. It deserves to be fully booked all year.

Our family had three rooms, all beautiful and with fireplaces. Breakfast, including hot eggs and sausage, was part of the stay. Coffee and tea were available all day. It's about 30 minutes outside Krakow.

The interior decor is impressive, and the place has a nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It's a 14th-century castle on a hill, a bit far from Kraków, that's being renovated and turned into a hotel and/or event venue. The surrounding area and the building as a whole are amazing, though in some spots the modern bricks visibly don't match the old stone walls.

The old halls are open to visitors, and a half-hour stop is worth it. This is a small, very nice-looking castle, part of the Trail of Eagle Nests. At the moment it has a restaurant and hotel.
