Apartament Kościelisko

My family was absolutely delighted. The Peak Apartment has a lovely mountain view, plus the Koralowa restaurant, local shops, and a church are all within 1 km. For attractions, you still need to drive from Zakopane, but it’s worth going farther out for a quiet break from the bustle there. The rooms have plenty of equipment: an induction cooktop, microwave with toaster, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, dishes, and iron. The bathroom also has a bidet and hairdryer. There are three air-conditioning units, underfloor heating, and wood finishes. I highly recommend it.

We spent long evenings on the balcony admiring the beautiful Tatra Mountain views. The apartment is comfortable, and the bathroom is large, with a bathtub that fits two people easily. The hot water was the one issue, as it came and went.

I wouldn’t choose this for a winter trip. The parking area was all snow and ice, and getting out was a struggle every time. We eventually found a snow shovel after looking for a few minutes, but it was an unusual one. Nearby villas and apartments had cleared their cars, so it can be done ;-) The loose bathroom tiles and all the cracks in the walls don’t make us want to return. There is a kitchenette, but the cracked stove is a nuisance, and two pots plus a frying pan aren’t enough for much cooking. One of the worse apartments we’ve stayed in so far.

The Wi-Fi is very poor, and you can only dream of LTE or any other signal. It’s 6 km to Zakopane, which makes things difficult with children; the shop is about 1 km away, and there are no restaurants. You have to go everywhere by car. Equipment also varies a lot between rooms, even two next to each other, and you don’t have much say in which one you get. It feels like being in a satellite spot on a hill, far from the center of things.
