We spent New Year’s Eve at this lovely place. It’s a large, spacious, atmospheric house with a beautiful panoramic mountain view. The owner communicated really well, and everything was a plus. There’s free parking at Gubałówka.

We loved the quiet and simplicity here, and the view of the northern High Tatras was wonderful. There’s a pond in the yard with that same view. Downstairs are the kitchen, living room and bathroom; upstairs there are three rooms and a separate toilet. If you want to properly unwind and be close to nature, I’d book it again without hesitation. For me it’s five stars, though it might be one for someone else. This isn’t a luxury place, it’s a natural experience. You walk around 200 meters from the parking lot to the house. That’s probably fine except in winter, but take care on the icy snow, and the uphill walk is a bit of a challenge 😂. Parking above is free, and the host speaks English and is very helpful.

The atmosphere, peace and quiet are why I’d definitely come back. The cottage is roomy and has that classic mountain style, and we really enjoyed it. It was the end of September, and the owner controlled the temperature remotely. There’s a fireplace in the living room with wood under the balcony, so we could light a fire and make the place feel even cozier. The way down is quite steep, as the owner had told us. Our five-year-old handled it easily, and wheeled suitcases worked fine. Communication with the owner was excellent. I highly recommend it.

Getting to the cottage means a very steep descent over large slabs, and suitcases weren’t enough. It’s a large cottage in a good spot on Gubałówka Mountain, but there were plenty of issues. The kitchen is spacious, though the fridge is tiny for a house for 11. Cleaning could be better, and the bathroom had no basics like hand soap. The neglected outdoor area has no table. To reach the terrace, you have to pass through the large downstairs room and climb over a radiator. It was hard to reach the owner. He plays at weddings and didn’t answer calls, and he came into the cottage without telling the guests...
