Gospoda Harnaś

I've been visiting Poland with my wife and children for many years, starting in 1995, when we first found this great restaurant. Restaurant Harnas is conveniently located at the entrance to Dolina Koscieliska valley, with traditional settings, lovely people, and great service. It offers great value for what you get. We've tried many of the meats over the years, along with cheeses and Pierogi. Our favourite is the Lamb, and the traditional and local dishes are great. I highly recommend giving it a try.

It's ridiculous having to go through barriers just to enter the restaurant. They say, “we don't sell tea, coffee or any other drink to people that don't buy food”. What is this?

The waiter was really kind, and the food was excellent. We had lamb, pierogi, and salad, and loved the nicely decorated interior. Hope to come back.

The first thing that won us over was the restaurant itself, with its lovely interior and a waitress in local dress who was warm and polite. My wife and I had found Restaurant Harnas by chance while staying in an Airbnb about a 15 to 20 minute walk away, and we were glad we wandered in. We tried Polish food for the first time here. The smoked cheese with locally picked cranberries was a great start. My wife had the steak skewer with onions and peppers, cooked just right, while I ordered the Robbers pot, a hearty mix of pork, potatoes, peppers, onions and cream served in a cauldron. We also enjoyed our drinks, a glass of red wine for her and local beer with a shot of cherry vodka for me. It was surprisingly quiet, despite the beautiful setting. The place was spotless, the food and drinks were great, the service was excellent, and the prices were very good. We absolutely loved it.
