We still had some lovely family time here for my 40th birthday, but the worn-out house got in the way of the holiday. It feels like the owner is focused on making as much as possible and doesn't care about the condition of the place or its equipment. Such a shame, with those views. The setting itself was fantastic: beautiful views, a quiet spot, and a great location. We booked through TatryTop, and everything from booking through check-in went smoothly. The service then was five-star. But a lot of the house needs attention. More than half the cupboards and wardrobes were falling apart. The chairs in the dining room were old, breaking down, and unsafe to sit on. Only three of the four cooker rings worked, and several bulbs were out. The veranda table was warped, so glasses wouldn't sit level. The coffee machine was temperamental: after ten or more tries it might make two coffees, while grinding and throwing away nearly a kilo of beans and showing a “lack of coffee” error. The heating could be set when the weather turned cold and rainy, but the system may be hard for others to figure out. The top-floor bathroom was missing its rainfall shower head, leaving just the pipe end. On the first floor, the shower light blinked when switched on and kept glowing after being switched off. I reported it as an obvious fire risk. I told the person responsible for the house about all of this, but got no further contact and nothing was fixed. We had booked a holiday and invited our closest family to spend some quality time together. It could have been much better without the problems, outdated furniture, and appliances.
