Willa Kościelisko

We felt completely rested by the time we left. Our triple room looked out over the Tatra Mountains, and having coffee with that view in the morning was lovely. We could set off on foot for the Kościelisko Valley trail, and the nearby bus stops go to Zakopane and the Chochołowskie Thermal Baths. The owners were warm and helpful. There was a shower and fresh, spotless towels in the room, plus a shared kitchen for three rooms stocked with everything we needed: dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, oven, induction hob, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. They welcomed us with homemade lemon vodka and highlander cookies. A wonderful place to spend some time.

The Tatra Mountains and the surrounding scenery from the window were hard to stop looking at. It was a great spot for walking, with all the hiking trails close by. Our room was cozy and clean, and had what we needed, though I did miss having a refrigerator. The hosts were welcoming and always happy to help or share advice. Breakfast was a treat, with fresh pancakes and crepes with berries. I was reminded of the psalmist’s words: “How manifold are Your works, O Lord! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your riches!” (Psalm 104:24)

The price felt fair for what we got, and the owners were very friendly and focused on guests. They even let us leave our car there for a few days before our overnight stay while we hiked to mountain huts. It’s a quiet spot with plenty of room around the house to sit and unwind, and there’s a kitchenette available. The room was about a three-star standard, with a comfortable bed, though the pillows were too big for my taste 😉. A bit more attention to cleanliness here and there would help. The fruit was a particularly nice touch on arrival 😉. I’d give it five stars, maybe a little more, since four doesn’t feel like enough.

It was peaceful because the building sits back from the road, and the view from the window is beautiful. For mountain walks, the location worked really well, with Western Tatras trails nearby. The rooms were lovely and the whole place was clean and warm, with TV and Wi-Fi. We also had a fully equipped kitchen, plenty of parking, a barbecue, a seating area, and a terrace. The hosts were incredibly friendly. We’ll definitely come back!
