1891 Garni Hotel

The staff were outstanding and so helpful, and it's a great place. My one gripe is the car park: it costs £30 a night, more than I paid to hire the car, and someone else was in my reserved space, so I had to use another one. At that price, I'd expect the parking to be managed better.

We enjoyed our three-night break in the city. The hotel was clean and well maintained, the staff were polite, and the location in the heart of Kazimierz is excellent. The room was immaculate, nicely decorated, and modern. It faced another private apartment, which is worth knowing if privacy matters to you. Check-in was a bit muddled. We arrived at 3pm, knowing check-in started at 4pm, and were told the room would be ready in about 10 minutes. We waited in reception, then found out when I checked again that it had already been prepared. They could have let us know. A few details bothered us: the two single beds were pushed together at different heights, with separate single duvets instead of a king-size bed, and the pillows were lumpy. At night, light from the bathroom came under the door unless we blocked it with a rolled up towel. The wall-mounted bedside light made a slight high-pitched sound when switched off, and other guests closing corridor doors made the headboard rattle. We mentioned it was our honeymoon but got no acknowledgment, not even congratulations. The hotel is in a no-stopping zone, so getting a taxi means walking around 100m. Our room wasn't serviced during our 3 night stay, and unlike what we'd read in other reviews, we weren't offered complimentary coffee or a similar gesture. The cleanliness, location, and friendly staff still made the stay comfortable, but because of the bed setup and a few inconsistencies, we'd likely pick a different hotel next time. The place has a lot of potential with a few small improvements.

We just got home after 5 nights here, and we'd definitely recommend it. The food was outstanding, the staff were fabulous, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Everyone was so polite and helpful. Our room was lovely and clean, and was cleaned every day. Definitely 5 stars from us.

I stayed with my daughter in a twin room from 8th to 10th April, and we loved the hotel. The reception and shared areas were lovely, and all the staff were pleasant and very helpful. Our room was large, comfortable, and clean. There are lots of cool cafes and bars nearby, too. I'd highly recommend 1891 Garni Hotel. Go ahead and book it!
