The rooms were very clean, and I liked having a spacious, well-equipped shared kitchen. Angel House Apartments is on a quiet street just outside the old town, between there and the Jewish district, so both parts of the city are easy to visit. Getting to reception was a drawback: it’s 10 minutes away, which means a 20-minute round trip, a lot when you have suitcases. It’s on the third floor with no elevator, so that could be difficult for older people, children, or anyone disabled. My other complaint was the radiator. Even turned up to its warmest, it wasn’t very hot, so I had to wear extra layers. The staff were friendly, though, and I appreciated the hot chocolate. I’d stay again if I weren’t bringing a big suitcase.

I stayed with my husband in 2011, on his first trip to Poland, and we loved it. The service was friendly, and the Old Town was very close, with the old Jewish district just a short walk away. It’s in an old town house, up a few flights of stairs, so it’s not a standard place. Inside, though, it felt like staying with friends.

The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were lovely and clean. It’s an easy walk from both the station and the old town, as well as the old Jewish quarter. The housekeeping ladies were lovely, and breakfast was included and nice. People in the neighboring apartment were friendly too, and one of them had an adorable little dog :)

The rooms are nice, but getting to the third floor means climbing 77 steps, with no lift, and there are four doors, each needing its own key. Would I stay again? Sorry, no.

Staff were really friendly and helpful, and the location was good. The walls are thin, though, so maybe not ideal for passionate couples ;) unless you don’t mind that. Still, I had a positive experience.
