The rooftop was wonderful and made for a memorable stay. The hotel is in a quiet, safe area near the castle, and downtown is a pleasant 20-30 minute walk away. My room was spotless, comfortable, and well cared for. The staff were consistently kind, helpful, and courteous, with real professionalism. It’s become my favorite place to stay in Poland and has set a new standard for me.

I booked seven nights, but after one night in the room I couldn’t handle staying any longer. The photos gave the wrong impression; in person, the room was really poor in design, materials, and size. The bed was tiny even for one person, and the furniture was worn out. I moved to the Radisson for nights two and three, then decided to leave Krakow on day three because the double booking had wrecked my budget. They wouldn’t refund me, whatever the circumstances, and didn’t seem to care. A business with no flexibility on cancellations is a huge red flag. I regret booking this place and would have chosen the Radisson from the start if I’d known what pod Wawelem was like. The reviews misled me too: how does this place have 4.5 stars? One star at best.

The rooftop bar is a must, with special views over the castle and river. It was a great experience staying at this very nice hotel next to Wawel Castle. The staff service was fantastic while I was there with friends, and there were good breakfast options as well as evening meals.

The rooms were spotless, the food was lovely, and the views were amazing. Everything is central and close to it all. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and really go above and beyond. Bart is a legend! I’ll definitely be back.

Pod Wawalem staff made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived in Krakow. Our room wasn’t ready yet, but a bright, bubbly man took our bags somewhere safe while we went for lunch and sightseeing. When we came back, he remembered us, checked us in quickly, and explained everything we needed for the stay. We’ve stayed at other hotels in Poland where we were lucky if anyone even looked us in the eye while handing over a keycard. The team at Pod Wawalem was attentive and helpful. We had a very early flight and needed a car at 3am. The weekend staff member kindly arranged it, and when we came to check out, he’d set out cheese sandwiches, water, yogurt, and apples so we wouldn’t be hungry at the airport. That was above and beyond, and really warmed us. The room was clean, functional, and well appointed, though on the small side. We’re used to that in Europe. It was a lovely end to an amazing trip. Thank you, Pod Wawalem staff!
