The location is excellent and the street is quiet at night, though sound carries between floors. There was a family staying above us, so that could matter if you’re looking for peace and quiet. The bed and linens were comfortable, but the linens weren’t changed during our five-night stay, even after we asked following the third night. The dark room made it hard to see, though the furniture was comfortable, if a bit overdone in its theme. At 350 euros a night including tax, I expected someone to know we were coming and greet us properly. This “hotel” didn’t feel like a hotel or a bed and breakfast. Restaurant staff handled guest needs, and they seemed stretched. The breakfast, served by Marcella, was the same eggs with bacon or ham and vegetables for all five mornings. There was no yogurt, cereal, choice of bread, or fruit, so it got boring. Marcella herself was lovely and very helpful with taxis, towels, and other needs, while also cooking and serving everyone. She deserves a promotion. A lot seemed to fall through the cracks. The young man who seemed to be the head waiter, Lukas?, often appeared overwhelmed or irritated by this side of the business. A light over our bed flashed for two nights because the smoke alarm battery was wearing down. I slept in an eye mask from the plane, which wasn’t comfortable, and we shouldn’t have had to ask twice to get it fixed. When we arrived, he told us housekeeping wouldn’t come the next day, without asking whether we wanted it during our stay or suggesting we request it in the morning. Even then, it wasn’t clear it would happen. He had a lot of excuses when the fresh towels we’d asked for still weren’t there at 5:30 pm. We only wanted towels after two days, not a full clean, but the housekeeper had other rooms at their other hotel to do first. For the price, it was just okay and didn’t feel first class. I’d look elsewhere.

I’d stay here again and recommend it. Google lists it as a five-star hotel, though the accommodation is certainly five-star, it’s actually an apartment. We realized that before booking, and with the 50% discount we were very happy with what we got.

The pork chop was the best I’ve ever had, and the cheesecake was just as good. Everyone at our table agreed it was one of the best experiences we’ve had. The wine was spot on too, and Anjelika’s service couldn’t have been better. She deserves a big raise.

The rooms and location are beautiful, so this could work if all you need is a nice place to stay and don’t expect good service. Staff were hard to reach and didn’t seem to know what was happening at the hotel. They’re all restaurant staff too, and seemed too busy with that work. One of our reserved rooms wasn’t ready for nearly three hours. We were verbally promised a refund, but a month later it still hadn’t arrived. The service information on the paper in the room was wrong as well. It felt as if the manager or owner had recently changed and nobody knew what was going on. That’s how it came across, at least.
