Central Palace

We had a great stay, despite seeing quite a few 1 star reviews. Room number 8 was large, very clean, and really nice inside, and the building itself was lovely. The staff were friendly and always around, and getting in and picking up our key caused no trouble. There’s a Starbucks and a really nice cafe next door. We did hear some noise from the room next door and pigeons on the roof, but that aside, 10/10. I’d stay again if we come back!

The studio was set up like an apartment all in one room, with a great big shower, a lovely bathroom, comfy beds, a coffee machine, and a range of utensils. It was spotless and modern, and I’d recommend it if you want to cook your own meals. We walked everywhere in Krakow, so the location was perfect. We took a while to get in because we hadn’t received an email. After we called, the lady who answered sent the access information and codes straight away. One window was missing its blind, and the blind on the other was broken, so the sun came in every morning and woke us up. The TV still worked, though it had some coloured lines through the picture. Neither issue affected our stay. I left my phone in the taxi on the way to the hotel and asked the cleaners to help me speak to the driver. They only spoke English, so they got the owner, I think, on a call to translate. She was more than happy to help, and I was so thankful. The cleaners were friendly and extremely helpful too. Without them, I wouldn’t have got my phone back. Really appreciated their help and hospitality, thank you!

It was better than we expected. The room had a separate bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette, and was well equipped. The train station, galleria shopping center and historic old town are all an easy walk away. Some ceilings are a little low, so watch your head. There’s no 24-hour reception, but they send private instructions for getting into the property. We’d love to stay again.

The building is lovely and the location puts you close to everything, but arriving was a real ordeal. We got there around 11 pm and couldn’t find any directions about where to go. The intercom went unanswered, so we had to Google a contact number and call to get the door code. That should be sent beforehand. Without internet, older people could have been stuck worrying about whether they had somewhere to sleep. The room is modern and nice, but the LED lights flashed constantly when switched on, and they come on with the bathroom light, so there’s no real choice. We were also woken every night by kids shouting outside, followed by drunks after the kids had gone. It seems to be a local hangout. The location is perfect, but we wouldn’t stay again, which is a shame.
