The kitchen had good cooking facilities, though it could use a toaster and T towels. The accommodation was clean and spacious, close to the old town centre, with local restaurants and shops nearby. It was also a great base for the salt mine tour and Auschwitz. The first thing we noticed on arrival was the piles of rubbish bags outside, smelling of rotting vegetables. It made a poor first impression, though the smell didn’t come inside thanks to the double glazing.

The location was excellent, near the market square and Wawel Castle, but the apartment was a disaster. There was a sewage smell, no tables or chairs, and the entrance was dilapidated and dingy. You had to go through the courtyard and then via the balcony to reach one of the rooms. The entrance area was a mess with piles of garbage. The listing said parking was included, but there wasn’t any. Breakfast was also included in the offer, yet we only got a voucher for a restaurant you had to walk to. Maybe suitable for a weekend party with friends, but definitely not a holiday with children.

The bathroom was still damp and smelled of mold, and the rooms were cold. The kitchen was poorly equipped. I’ve stayed in better places in Krakow.

We stayed as a family for a short visit, in a good spot right beside Wawel Castle and the Vistula River. Everything we wanted to see was close enough to explore easily. The apartment was roomy, clean, and had the essentials, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d recommend it for a comfortable, pleasant stay, short or long.
