Grand Hotel Kraków

The building is a beautiful old palace, and the breakfast had a great selection. A waiter was always around to help. It was also incredibly quiet, almost as if we had the place to ourselves. That may not suit everyone, and there was little signage or information about the sauna and small gym, which you have to arrange in advance. There wasn’t any information about excursions or local attractions either. The location is friendly enough at check-in, but our first room was freezing; our clothes even felt damp, and the heating wasn’t working properly. When the night porter came to replace our broken kettle, he noticed the cold and tried adjusting the radiator, but nobody offered another room or extra heating. We asked about it again the next morning and were moved to a much nicer room that was very hot. I’d recommend the grand, beautiful hotel to a friend, though it won’t be to everyone’s taste. It also doesn’t have the qualities I’d associate with a five-star hotel.

Maya checked me in, and I found her unhelpful. She made no effort to offer a room change or accommodate me, and I felt no concern for my experience. The room’s bathroom was awkward too: an oversized bathtub in the middle of a long space, with no proper shower option, so bathing was the only choice. The furnishings looked very worn, some were ripped, and the place felt neglected rather than charmingly historic. There’s a difference between vintage, old, and used, and this felt simply used, very used. I’ve just checked into Hotel Grand, and to me it’s nowhere near five stars, three at best. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms were stunning, and we had breathtaking city views right in the middle of Krakow’s historic district. From the moment we arrived, the staff seemed to anticipate what we needed and took great care of us. The service was impeccable, and the whole stay at Grand Hotel Krakow went beyond what we expected. A luxurious, unforgettable visit, highly recommended. Five stars doesn’t feel like enough! 😊👍

The interior is stunning, and the whole stay at the Grand hotel was beautiful. Our room was comfortable, and we could open the window when we wanted some fresh air. The restaurant food was superb, and breakfast was sooo good. The staff were lovely, especially the young woman who served us in the dining room on the night of the 28th October. She was helpful with information about the area and our Auschwitz tour booking, though unfortunately we didn’t get her name. I’d absolutely recommend staying here. The only downside was a few partygoers shouting and carrying on in the street in the early hours, but that wasn’t the hotel’s fault.
