Green Hostel

We came with teenage students and asked to have rooms on the same floor so we could supervise them, but we were assigned rooms on the first and third floors. There’s no elevator. The rooms felt suffocating, with only a small window and not enough fresh air, and there was no TV remote. The sheets that were supposed to be clean had spots and hair. Drunk people talked loudly all night and nobody seemed to care. It’s a terrible choice for families, groups or anyone who wants to sleep. Very disappointing.

The receptionist was friendly and helped me carry my huge bag up to my third-floor room. The bed and pillow were comfortable, and the room was more or less clean. It’s a central location, but getting there by public transport from the railway station was difficult when I didn’t know the city. The old building has no elevator, so I had to climb three floors with my 20 kg luggage. Noise insulation was poor too. I’d asked for a quiet room if possible, and staff said they’d take it into consideration, but I ended up facing the road and trams. There were rooms facing the building’s interior, though I don’t know if any were available. A good place for a fair price.

Right by the Jewish quarter and about 10 minutes from the main square, the hostel’s location is perfect. Reception was very friendly, and the rooms were simple but comfortable and clean. We’ll definitely come back.

The location and breakfast were the only reasons I gave this hostel two stars. Don’t expect extras in the rooms; they have just the basics. WiFi works well in the dining area but is weak in the rooms, and there’s no sound insulation. Some rooms barely get warm in winter while others are very hot, with no way to control the radiator. There’s no 24-hour reception, and you should expect to carry your bags up the stairs. It’s okay, but I wouldn’t stay longer than two nights.
