Hostel Retro

The location is good, the employee was nice, and the rooms are spacious. There was a moldy smell inside, though, so you should open all the windows if you stay here.

The kitchen was a highlight, with plenty of space and all the equipment you might need. My room was clean, and the beds were standard but good. Reception staff were very nice, and both check-in and check-out were easy. Reception closes at night and the hostel door is kept shut, but they give you a key to open it. It's a pleasant walk to the center, passing by the river, though it takes a few minutes. Great stay.

We stayed three nights, and it wasn't great. The floor had mold, the place was dirty, and the toilet leaked. The beds felt like wood, and the cold tap water wasn't working. I'd pay a few euros extra for a better hostel.

We had an amazing view over the river, and the riverside is only a five-minute walk away. The city center takes about 20 minutes on foot, so the hostel may look far out, but it isn't. The bus stop is two minutes away, the conference hall is right next door, and Wawel castle is a ten-minute walk. The building has old architecture but is well maintained. I stayed in a double room with a private bathroom. The decor was very simple, but it felt clean and home-like. There's also a brand new, fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven and kettle.
