Hostel Yellow

It was clean, but there were too few bathrooms for the number of guests, and it was expensive by local standards. Without a curfew, my roommates regularly came back from clubbing between 4 and 6 in the morning. Our room faced a busy street and had only lace curtains, so it stayed very bright at night.

The location is the best part, about a two-minute walk from Old Town and the Market Square, with plenty of tourist attractions nearby. It's in a quiet spot just beyond the park around Old Town. For the price, it's okay: clean and functional, though a little bare and worn. Nothing fancy, but you get what you pay for.

The prices are very affordable, and it's close to the center, Rynek Glowny is no more than five minutes away, with Kraków Glowny about 15 minutes on foot. The staff were nice and helpful. The dorms felt quite old and depressing, unless you're really into yellow, and the shared bathrooms were old too, though clean enough. One bathroom door doesn't lock. Not the best hostel I've stayed in.

The confirmation clearly said we'd booked a room with two single beds, but we were given one with a double bed instead. We refused to stay, yet they still charged us. The staff were unfriendly and unfair, and wouldn't even try to find a solution.
