Krakow Town House

The old building has a lovely feel, especially the patterned tiles in the hallway. Our room was modern, and the bathroom and toilet were clean. It was quiet and worked well for us with kids, though the beds could be sturdier. Free, secure parking and friendly staff, too. It’s close to the old town. I’d be happy to come back.

A few hours before I was due to arrive today, the property cancelled my booking, saying it was overbooked. I’d reserved a room at Krakow Town House a few days earlier, and I could still see it listed on other sites at a higher price. I suspect they got a better offer and dropped my cheaper booking, though I can’t be certain. My reservation was non-refundable, so if I’d cancelled I would have owed the full amount. Instead, I had to find somewhere else at short notice. If they knew they were overbooked today, my booking must have come before another one and should have been honored. This caused a lot of stress on travel day. I strongly advise against booking here.

The place is close to the main attractions, and I’d stay here again on my next trip to Krakow. The owner was waiting at the front door for check-in and was kind and helpful. The studios are simple, in an old building, but have what you need for a short stay. We were given an extra heater because it was very cold while we were there. The parking entrance is narrow, so take care, but we got through in a VW Passat without trouble, even with snow and ice on the street. I’d suggest the owners clear the snow from the parking area and use some sand or salt when it’s snowy.

There’s a supermarket right across the road that stays open until 22:00, which came in handy. A bar, restaurant, and bakery are all about a 30-second walk away and worth checking out. The apartment is nicely finished, warm, and comfortable in winter. It’s also well placed for the train and bus stations, the tourist area of Krakow, and the Jewish quarter, which you can reach on foot. I’d stay again, thanks!
