I’ve spent more than 60 nights at Meininger Krakow over the last three months, and it’s really become my home in Krakow. My reviews have consistently been 5/5, based on what I honestly experienced. The comfort is excellent, the place is spotless, and the location is hard to beat. I’ve met a lively mix of entrepreneurs, digital nomads, tourists and families during my stays, and we all agree on those points. The management deserves public credit for listening to constructive feedback and making visible improvements. The people are a big part of why this works. Kamil at the Front Desk is easily the best, with unmatched efficiency, warmth, professionalism and hospitality, a perfect 10/10. Patrick, Martina, Kinga, and Giovanni the Bartender also provide impeccable service, an easy 5/5. I get no benefit from writing this, and it isn’t an ad, just my honest experience. If you’re coming to Krakow, try Meininger for yourself. Highly recommend!

The staff member at the front desk was very nice, and the whole hotel was clean. It’s a short walk, about 15 minuts, to the main square, with a little shop right next door. We slept well: the bed was good and the pillows were so great we want the same ones at home! Breakfast was enough, but there wasn’t much choice and it was exactly the same each morning. By the third morning it was getting a bit boring. We missed having a small fridge in the room. We might choose this hotel again.

The staff were kind and helpful when we asked to change rooms, and they moved us straight into a much better one. That’s why I gave four stars. We were there with our school for our graduation trip, and the start was honestly terrible. My roommates and I were first put in a spacious disabled access room that was extremely dirty. I don’t know what standards the hotel has for disabled guests if that’s the condition of their room. We aren’t disabled, but were still assigned it. I hope they changed the curtains after we left. The shower curtain was so disgustingly dirty that none of us could use the bathroom to shower. The hotel is close to the train station, which is handy, but the city centre and tourist attractions are about a 20 minute walk, and you’ll probably need public transport to reach most other places. There’s a Żabka about a minute away for snacks and small things, though it’s more like a kiosk than a full supermarket. The city itself is beautiful, and I definitely recommend visiting.

The hotel and rooms stayed warm despite the February snow and cold, and reception staff were kind, helpful and very good. I chose it from the website for its city centre location, and it’s within walking distance of the old town and meeting points. The hotel is very clean, but we never saw the floor or room supervisors, and the rooms aren’t cleaned, so keeping them clean is up to you. There are lots of students of all ages coming and going, and I think some areas are used like a hostel, but it wasn’t a problem. Everyone was respectful, and the younger students were supervised by their teachers. Go to breakfast after 8:30, as it’s very crowded before then. Breakfast was mediocre and needs improvement for a 3-star hotel. We’d come from the Ibis hotel in Warsaw, also 3 stars, where breakfast was excellent. With carpets in the corridors and so many young people around, the corridors should be cleaned daily. There’s a fully equipped guest kitchen where you can cook and make tea or coffee. The hotel’s hot water was mediocre, though, and I couldn’t get a fully hot shower. Maybe the students using it so much had something to do with that. I felt like a young person among them.

We’ve now stayed at our third Meininger Hotel, after the other two in Rome and Belgium, and had another delightful experience. The facilities are almost new and make for a great mix of quality and price. It’s well placed for seeing the city, and has useful travel facilities, a kitchen, a shared place to eat and meet people, and a great games zone. We were also pleased with the room quality.
