Aparthotel Pergamin

The location was the biggest plus: it’s only a short walk to the Old Town and its beautiful architecture. The room was roomy, bright from its large windows, and clean, with a great powerful shower and a fridge for drinks. Cleaning during the stay costs extra. Check-in was easy enough. I sent my contact details before arriving as requested, then got clear instructions by WhatsApp. After that, though, there was no other service and I never saw any staff, which felt odd for a hotel. There were several drawbacks. Noise from outside and nearby rooms came through clearly, the pillows gave no support, and I had two single duvets on a double bed even though I was alone. The sofa was uncomfortable, and the TV remote made changing channels or volume slow and difficult. The apartment door also didn’t seem secure. At a regular hotel I’d have taken those issues to reception, but there wasn’t one.

The staff were brilliant when we contacted them, but after we explained the room’s problems, they didn’t offer a solution. We ended up feeling too uncomfortable to stay and avoided the hotel altogether. The bathroom had a persistent egg and sewage-like smell that made showering, using the toilet, or getting ready unbearable. It spread through the bedroom too. There were also white stains all along the headboard on the bed frame, which made us question the hygiene. The room was nothing like the website photos. There was just a bed and a small wardrobe, with no sofa, table, or bedside table. We’d paid about what other nearby hotels cost, so the difference was disappointing and misleading. The conditions might have been fine if they’d been shown honestly in the listing.

The location was the one good thing, within walking distance of the old town and popular sights. But that didn’t make up for the rest, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I was there for three nights and couldn’t get proper sleep any of them. Between 1 and 3 a.m. every night, guests shouted in the corridors, slammed doors, and banged around. It just kept going. The room felt unclean, too. The towels smelled unpleasant, so I wasn’t comfortable using them. The door only locked from the inside with a key, which didn’t feel secure. The place came across as neglected and poorly maintained.

The location of the apartments is perfect, but I’d never stay here again. I arrived 7th oct and left 11th oct. The rooms looked nothing like the photos. There was no one to help us check in, the doors didn’t lock properly, and we put our case in front of the door and slept with one eye open. The lift doesn’t stop at every floor. There were four of us, and they first put us in a tiny room where you couldn’t swing a cat. When I raised it, the man was rude and aggressive and said he could give me another room if I paid more. I did pay, because the first room was so small. I’d paid for a family room for four but got a twin room, then had to pay for another room for two of the guests. The rooms were dirty, with a layer of dirt and hair on the floors, and the towels had holes and were clearly old. If you wanted fresh towels or room cleaning, you had to pay extra. The noise was shocking even though there was supposed to be a quiet time. I called about children screaming at 1 a.m., and the man replied that having children isn’t illegal. I just hung up. One woman went home after three days because she couldn’t take the noise anymore. This was my third visit to Poland, and these were the worst apartments I’ve stayed in. Room score zero, cleanliness definitely zero.
